Heirloom affection eco-ergonomic armchair carve by Gustaf Rooth
Artist, designer, master-craftsman Gustaf Rooth has been making custom high end furniture and art for 20 years. He was introduced to the idea of making something out of a wine barrel just 2 short years ago and came up with an ergonomic sculpture in the form of chair. After previously founding and building San Diego’s largest artwalk Ray at Night, in these last 2 years, he has built a Design Haus in the European tradition (Planet Rooth) closer to downtown San Diego on Bankers Hill to handle the demand of Gustaf’s first commercial line. Nearly everyone who sits in the chair comments “I don’t want to get up”. A Japanese gentleman recently sat in the chair and asked “are you Japanese”? Several collectors have commented they have bad backs and this is the only chair they can sit in. These are just some indications of how much time, detail, vision, and love Gustaf and his team put into each piece of art/furniture they produce. Everything they make is a unique piece of art so not only do collectors get an amazing chair/sculpture but become valued patrons as well.
